The Challenge
The Solar Car Challenge is a rigorous challenge established in 1993 to encourage students to participate in solar and regular sciences, as well as mechanical and electrical engineering. Every year many different high schools from all across the country come together to compete and see who’s solar-powered car is among the best, in a variety of categories and groups. Every year, the cars drive from Texas to Colorado over a period of many days. We hope you support us, the South River Solar Hawks, in our quest to not only complete, but win the Solar Car Challenge.
Our Mission
We are not just building a car, we are working to bring renewable energy right into the spotlight. With our car, we promise work inside of our communities in order to teach, encourage and inspire new generations to follow our path towards sustainability.
