Since the origin of our organization in 2021, we have worked continually to develop our lineup of solar powered vehicles. Our first car, “Enterprise,” began development in 2021 in a spare supplies closet. Enterprise’s frame was constructed out of a repurposed soccer goal. Despite the lack of materials, we were able to garner experience that could be put to effective use in our next car, “Challenger.”

With much more experience (and a slightly larger materials budget), Challenger’s development, which began at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, went much smoother. We were able to progress substantially faster and have Challenger on the move in just a single year. Sadly, after making it all the way down to Texas for the Official Solar Car Challenge, we had a few minor rule infractions that caused us to be unable to race in 2023. This year, we plan to modify and improve Challenger as well as begin the creation of our newest car, “Discovery.”
